Defaults on instalment purchases fall by 25.2% in Spain

The value of unpaid bills of exchange decreased 42.5% in May, as compared with the same month of 2013. The number of expired bills of exchange reached €13,135 million, which is 8.5% below the same month of 2013. Regarding the returned unpaid bills of exchange, the value reached €307 million, which represents a 42.5% annual decrease.

The percentage of unpaid bills of exchange as compared with expired bills of exchange reached 2.3%, i.e. 1.4 points below the same month of the previous year.

In May, 2.4% of the total expired portfolio bills of exchange were unpaid. Likewise, 2.3% of the total expired bills of exchange in debt collection management were unpaid.

64.1% of the value of expired bills of exchange corresponded to unpaid portfolio bills of exchange and 35.9% to debt collection management from clients.
