Spain will join countries guaranteeing ECB’s ABS

The purchase of increased risk of ABS tranches is that, for the purposes of bank balance sheets, frees capital and could therefore enable the granting of new credits, which is the ECB’s ultimate goal.

Despite Germany’s frontal opposition, Mario Draghi said that the ABS program would be launched with or without state guarantees.
