Foreign tourists in Spain spend 7.8% more until June

Spanish hotels and restaurants are enjoying a great year: until June, foreign tourists spent almost 8% more than in the same period of last year, according to official data released on Monday.

UK citizens spent 5.2 billion, +10.2% more; Germans accounted for 4.99 billion in total spending, which meant a 9.4% more than in the first six months of 2013.

As for regions, the Canary Islands were the most preferred destination, receiving 6.06 billion of the total foreign visitor’s spending, followed by Catalonia and Andalousia.

And the best is yet to come: beaches, sightseeing cities and other typical resorts are packed these days.
