The number of people registered as unemployment fell 2,475 from October to 4.8 million, the Spanish Labor Ministry said in an e-mailed statement today. Jobless claims were 98,909 lower than in the same month last year.
In the third quarter, household spending grew for the first since 2011, adding greater force to an economic recovery fueled by export growth. International capital has also buoyed Spanish markets with Bill Gates, the world’s richest man, taking a stake in Fomento de Construcciones & Contratas SA and Blackstone Group LP, the world’s largest private-equity firm, buying real estate in Madrid.
