Enagás: 42 plants to begin injecting green hydrogen into national gas network with combined capacity of 12.8 GWh per day

enagas

Norbolsa | The company has received 70 applications to inject hydrogen into the gas system, totalling a combined capacity of 59.1 GWh per day, although only 42 projects, 12.8 GWh per day, have been pre-allocated, given the limited capacity available in the network and the regulator’s cautious approach. This demonstrates the great interest of the sector in developing green hydrogen while awaiting a favourable regulatory framework and the development of a specific hydrogen network.

Enagás has selected the most technically and administratively mature facilities with the capacity to meet European targets in the short term.
