Alphavalue/ Divacons | Expansión comments that Indra is concentrating its signings on defence companies. For his part, the president Ángel Escribano emphasises that they will fulfil the strategic plan ahead of schedule. According to yesterday’s Expansión, the Spanish IT services and consulting company harshly criticised the management of Santa Bárbara by General Dynamics, the US defence giant. The Spanish company started a transatlantic war of words by announcing its intention to acquire Santa Bárbara Sistemas, a Madrid-based manufacturer of armoured vehicles owned by General Dynamics. Indra, whose main shareholder is the Spanish state, has decided to make public its intention to buy the company, while expressing its dissatisfaction with General Dynamics’ current management of the business.

In response, General Dynamics has reiterated that it remains “fully committed to the Spanish government in supporting and increasing Spain’s capacity to design and manufacture combat vehicles, both for its own needs and for the needs of other European allies”.
