Link Securities | Ferrovial’s biggest project currently under construction, the New Terminal 1 (NTO) at JFK airport in New York, is progressing according to schedule and budget, according to the company, as reported today in the newspaper Cinco Días. But as hard as the execution of the work, which is already more than 60% complete, is the commercial task of attracting airlines to an infrastructure intended for international traffic and which will open its doors, in the first phase, in mid-2026.
The NTO, in which Ferrovial has a 51% stake and an investment of $9.5 billion (around €8.72 billion) is expected, is gaining new customers, especially from the Star Alliance and SkyTeam alliances, with Air New Zealand as the latest addition. This airline, with flights connecting the USA with Australia, Asia and the Pacific Islands, joins its Star Alliance partners LOT, Eva Air and Turkish Airlines, and will be a neighbour of SkyTeam companies Air France, KLM and SAS.
