Link Securities | Between January and March, the energy company has beaten its historical figures for electricity distributed through its networks in Q1 2025, with 62,577 GWh, 1.7% more than in the same period of 2024, as reported by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). This good operational performance of the networks business is based on the increase in electricity demand in all the areas where the company operates – such as Spain, the United Kingdom, the USA and Brazil – and also on the greater electrification of the economy.

The company achieved 25,222 GWh of renewable generation during Q1 2025, 4.9% more than in the same period last year. By country, the increases in production in Brazil (24.6%) and the USA (8.3%) stand out. Spain has once again reached maximum generation levels in this quarter, exceeding 10,737 GWh of renewable energy, which represents an increase of 2.4%.

Iberdrola has installed more than 2,510 MW of renewable energy in the last twelve months, increasing its installed renewable capacity by 5.4% compared to the same period last year. This brings the group’s total renewable capacity to 44,653 MW. Of particular note is the commissioning of the Saint Brieuc offshore wind project in Brittany, France (496 MW).
