In the first eight months of 2025 (8M2025), the number of tourists who visited Spain increased by 3.9%, reaching 66.77 million, the highest figure in that period in the INE’s Frontur series. The main sending countries during the 8M2025 period were the United Kingdom (with nearly 13.2 million and a 4.3% increase), France (with almost 9.2 million and an increase of 0.1%), and Germany (with over 8.2 million, a 2.0% increase).

Separately, according to the Tourist Expenditure Survey (EGATUR), also published by the INE, the total expenditure made by international tourists visiting Spain in August reached EUR 16.39 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. Furthermore, the average expenditure per tourist was EUR 1,457, with a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.

Meanwhile, the average daily expenditure grew by 4.9%, reaching EUR 198.

In 8M2025, the total expenditure by international tourists increased by 7.1%, reaching EUR 92.463 billion.
