Acciona Energía completes repowering of Tahivilla wind farm (84.4 MW) and finalises commissioning

Link Securities | Acciona Energía (ANE) has completed the repowering of its Tahivilla wind farm (84.4 MW) in Tarifa (Cádiz) and is finalising its commissioning, according to a report by Bolsamanía on Tuesday. The repowering project consisted of replacing 98 old wind turbines with 13 state-of-the-art units, increasing annual energy production by 72% thanks to greater installed power.

The farm’s evacuation capacity will remain the same. Tahivilla is estimated to generate 254 GWh of electricity per year, avoiding the emission of around 108,000 tonnes of CO2 annually.

The project is backed by a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with a private customer. In addition, Acciona Energía has received €8.3 million in funding from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme.
