Aena puts regeneration works on runway 18R-36L at Madrid Airport out to tender for €39.7 million

Link Securities | Spanish airport operator Aena (AENA) has published a tender for the regeneration of the pavement on runway 18R-36L at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport for €39,768,485. The works have a completion period of twelve months. The actions to be carried out include the regeneration of the runway pavement and its threshold, the installation of new pipe banks and new cabling, the replacement of halogen lights, and the reinstallation of existing LED lights.

On taxiways Z1-Z14, associated with runway 18R-36L, the work will include, among other things, the regeneration of the pavement and the replacement of halogen lights, the reinstallation of existing LED lights and the laying of new cabling. Along with these works, other actions will also be carried out, such as sealing cracks in the pavement and constructing quick access roads to runway 18R-36L.

The execution of these works, which will involve the closure of the runway for a period of 47 days in 2027, is being coordinated with airlines and all stakeholders in order to minimise the impact on airport operations.
