Qatari sovereign wealth fund divests 1.71% of Iberdrola in 2025, reducing position to 6.98%, lowest level since 2012

Alphavalue/ Divacons | Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund (Qatar Investment Authority-QIA) reduced its stake in Iberdrola to 6.98%, the lowest level since 2012. According to the electricity company’s 2025 Annual Report, the Qatari fund divested 1.71% of its capital during the last financial year, reducing its position from the 8.69% it controlled at the end of 2024. Despite this partial exit, QIA remains the main reference shareholder of the Spanish energy company. Iberdrola’s share price fell by 1.22% yesterday.

QIA’s 6.98% stake in the group’s capital has a market value of more than €9.457 billion.
