Lower oil prices will increase real income of Spanish households by 0.5% in 2015

In that sense, lower energy bills due to the fall has already had an impact on the Spanish current account: the surplus registered in September improved when compared to the same month of the previous year –something that hadn’t happened in all 2014.

The potential reasons are a strong increase in exports and less payments on imports, a trend which demonstrates the impact of the fall in oil prices.
