It should be noted that February sales plummeted as volumes were affected by the significant reduction in working days, since the Lunar New Year holidays fell in February this year rather than January last year. It is also worth noting that in March, sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) rose by 1.2% year-on-year.

In the first quarter of the year (Q1 2026), car sales in China fell by 5.6% year-on-year, reversing the 11.2% increase recorded in the same period of 2025.
