CAF subsidiary Solaris wins first contract in Canada to supply Translink with 107 trolleybuses for €120 million

CAF

Link Securities | The Canadian transport operator TransLink, from the city of Vancouver, has awarded Solaris, a subsidiary of CAF, the contract for the supply of 107 trolleybuses for approximately €120 million, with the option of increasing the number of units contracted. At the end of last year, Solaris announced that it had been awarded its first contract in the USA, specifically for the supply of electric buses to the operator King County Metro in Seattle. This represented the realisation of one of the priority objectives set out in the CAF Group’s Strategic Plan 2026 for the bus business, namely its entry into the North American market with an exclusive value proposition of zero-emission urban vehicles.

The new contract, this time for the city of Vancouver in Canada, reinforces the achievement of this milestone. The agreement with TransLink involves the delivery of 107 12-metre trolleybuses as a base order, with the possibility of increasing this scope by up to another 201 12-metre units and up to 204 additional 18-metre articulated units. The crystallisation of these options would make this projectone of the largest projects developed by the company. According to the details of the agreement, the first deliveries are scheduled for the second half of 2026, continuing throughout 2027.
