Santander issues a green bond for 1 Bn€ with a “midswap” more than 0.65%

Alphavalue | Santander is seeking more time to merge its pension plan with that of Banco Popular. At the same time, the former President of Banco Popular, Emilio Sarancho, gave evidence to the national court on his management of the bank.

Also, Santander issued a green bond for 1bn€ with the aim of financing or re-financing green activities, social or sustainable, according to a communique published by the bank. According to Santander, the operation was carried out with a midswap (an interest rate used in debt issues) of more than 0.65%, thanks to strong demand of 5.5 X the amount issues, and “the high number of investors”.
