Link Securities| Banco Santander and Uber Technologies announced on Tuesday an agreement to support the growth of Uber’s main fleet operators in Europe, including Spain, Germany and Italy. The programme, worth up to €1 billion, as explained by the companies in a statement, has been designed to meet the financing needs of professional fleet operators.

By providing better access to flexible and agile financing, both companies aim to boost fleet investment and support Uber’s long-term growth strategy in Europe. Furthermore, the programme will run for three years, and the financing facilities will be activated based on the onboarding of fleet operators, market demand, risk analysis and a range of other factors in each country. It also provides a more solid foundation for the integration of autonomous vehicle technology, driving the next generation of urban transport.
