Zara And Movistar Amongst The Top 100 Names In Terms Of Brand Value

Zara and Movistar are the only two Spanish names which appear amongst the top 100 in the world in terms of their brand value, according to the ranking “Brandz Top 100” elaborated by consultancy firms Millward Brown and WPP. Google is top of the list, ahead of technology firm Apple.
Zara is number 35 in the list, with an estimated brand value of 25.221 billion dollars (22.319 billion euros), up 14% from a year earlier. This has allowed Spanish clothing retailer Inditex’s flagship store to move up seven places in the ranking.
For its part, Telefonica’s Movistar comes in at number 40 in the list, moving up from 46th place. It has an estimated brand value of 21.945 billion dollars (19.420 billion euros), up 3% from a year ago.
Zara has now become the fifth largest brand in value terms in Europe, just behind SAP, with a brand value of 39.023 billion dollars (34.533 billion euros), Deutsche Telekom, with a value of 37.733 billion dollars (33.392 billion euros), Louis Vuitton, with a value of 28.508 billion dollars (25.228 billion euros) and BMW, with a value of 26.837 billion dollars (23.749 billion euros).

Movistar is the eighth largest brand in value terms in Europe and the sixth in the telecommunications operators’ segment, where US firms like AT&T and Verizon lead the rankings, ahead of China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom and Vodafone.
