CdM | The company has won two new contracts in Sweden to supply a total of 170 electric buses, with a combined volume of both operations exceeding €100 million, as reported by the CAF group.

On the one hand, the Swedish operator Nobina Sverige AB has selected Solaris to supply 89 electric buses to be used in Stockholm, a new order that joins other recent orders from this same operator to the CAF company.

In 2024, Solaris already delivered 55 electric buses to Nobina to operate on routes in the Swedish capital, as well as 28 units for the services of the same operator in the province of Scania, in the south of the country.

On this occasion, the units will be of the Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric model, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2026, and will serve both urban and suburban routes in the Stockholm area.

In addition, the operator VR Sverige AB, one of Sweden’s main public transport operators, will receive 81 electric buses, also of the Solaris Urbino 15 LE model. The new vehicles will join the fleet serving suburban lines around the city of Stockholm in the second quarter of 2026.

The model chosen in both cases is the Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric bus, designed for both urban and suburban transport. It is a Class II approved vehicle, which means that it will operate mainly on interurban and metropolitan routes.

Each vehicle will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries with a high capacity, guaranteeing a long operating range. These are units with a spacious interior and advanced driver assistance systems, thus improving safety in service, and they produce no emissions.

Solaris has been present in the Swedish market since 2003, where it has supplied nearly 800 buses, including clean, battery-powered and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Last fiscal year 2024, Solaris supplied a total of 1,525 vehicles in Europe, nearly 5% more than the previous fiscal year.
