Ferrovial subsidiary Budimex chosen to build major section of Estonia railway corridor for €900 million

Link Securities | Rail Baltica, the company in charge of building the high-speed line that will connect Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, has once again chosen Budimex, the Polish subsidiary of Ferrovial (FER), to build another of the major sections of the railway corridor in Estonia, according to the newspaper Expansión.

The contract, put out to tender for more than €900 million, was divided into two lots. The joint venture formed by Budimex, together with Bouygues, Ingerop, KMG and WSP, submitted the best bid to build the Estonian section between Pärnu-Ikla, with an investment of €332 million. The contractors will be responsible for the design and integral construction of the section that connects with the Latvian border. The other lot was won by a group of companies made up of GRK, Aktiaselts Merko Ehitus Eesti, NGE and Sweco.
