Brazil’s Caixa Económica Federal hires Indra to trim costs

lkjMADRID | Spanish technology corporation Indra signed two contracts with Brazil’s Caixa Económica Federal. Indra will provide communication system services for an estimated €37 million during a period of four years. The contracts include specialised technical services for the development and maintenance of information technology programmes related to product portfolio in loans and financing and risk management.

Caixa Económica Federal, one of the largest banks in Brazil, is also the largest public bank in Latin America and has more than 58 million customers.

Indra explained in a press release the bank hire it

“to set a sustainable and efficient business management model, favouring resource optimisation, improved service quality, lower operational costs and more competitiveness. Indra’s professionals will work closely with the bank’s teams and offer agile guaranteed technological support.”

A multidisciplinary team from the technological multinational will work in the cities of Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the bank’s strategic headquarters, in order to establish the required technical structure for addressing software development demands, executing corrective and developmental maintenance tasks.

Indra also said it will use a set of advanced technological tools (proprietary and third-party) to manage service levels, incidents, projects and quality tests.

Indra has been a technological partner of Caixa Económica Federal for more than ten years, and during this time it has executed projects in strategic sectors that include financial, credit and contact centre management. The new contracts consolidate the multinational’s positioning with the financial entity and reinforce its market share as an IT service provider for large financial institutions.

Indra works with financial entities in more than 20 countries and manages more than 90 types of business processes in this area.

This new project reinforces Indra’s positioning in Brazil, the Spanish company highlighted, which is a key country in its international development strategy. Indra has an important presence in the energy sector, in which more than 40 companies use systems that have been developed by the technological corporation. It is also a technological partner of Petrobras, the most important energy company in Brazil and one of the largest in Latin America.
