Spanish SMEs craving for credit upturn

What is particularly worrying in Spain nowadays is that family businesses and neighborhood shops continue suffering from negative balance sheets and unemployment. Retail employment fell by 1.7% in the seventh month of the year.

Last 22 months have been awful for the retail sector. In July, according to official data, all the distribution chain experienced job losses. The biggest fall took place in retailers (- 5%) and supermarkets (- 4.4%). However, it should be noted that the number of entrepreneurs in the retail sector increased this year in July by 2,501 people from July 2012.
